My best nutrition tip...

And it actually has nothing to do with food.

Here it is:

Embrace a "that's good enough!" mindset over perfectionism.

Sometimes, perfection makes us not take any action at all,

what I like to call the high-bar dilemma!

But a "that's good enough!" mindset can help you settle for:

  • Throwing together a quick, simple meal at home (like eggs and toast, yogurt with fruit, or rotisserie chicken with veggies) instead of defaulting to takeout because you didn’t have time to cook the “perfect” dinner.

  • Adding something nutritious to what you were already going to eat (like enjoying your burger while swapping the side of fries for fruit or veggies) instead of throwing in the towel and going hog wild, calling it a "cheat day".

  • Having a simple snack like fruit and nuts instead of waiting until you're starving and grabbing whatever is fastest.

"Good enough" can get you so far!!

And farther than perfectionism can... as counterintuitive as it feels!

The perfect situation rarely falls in your lap.

The stars rarely align.

Things so rarely just fall into place...

Instead, do what you can today.

Never underestimate 5-minute action.

It will compound over time into something more amazing than anything you could accomplish

when you finally sit down and try to do the thing perfectly!!!

Especially when it comes to health;

one little bit at a time, done consistently, is key!

  • A 5 hr workout can do more harm than good, vs just 20 minutes a few days a week

  • Sleep for 7 hours a night does so much more good than staying up for 5 days, then hibernating for 2 days

  • Hydrating by taking sips of water is not life-threatening like being dehydrated, then chugging 2 gallons at one go...

  • If weight loss is your goal, losing a steady 0.25 pounds a week sustainably (while enjoying your favorite foods!) is so much better than 10lb... just to regain it all back!

Little action that is "good enough" is the ticket 🎉
